The Blackpool Beach And Central Pier | A Day In Blackpool Part 4

We finally arrived on the beach front! With more pictures from our Blackpool Beach trip as promised in last week's Blackpool seagulls post. After a very long walk indeed from the North Pier, we arrived on the sandy beach. On this day, the beach had a good number of people as can be seen in a small snippet on the right side of the picture below. There was also a number of lovely donkeys!

So on we continue on the concrete steps and ground. I like how this beach is pretty much at the edge of the actual city centre. When in the city centre, it doesn't feel like you are around the beach and when on the beach, you quite forget the city centre also! Yet nothing was too far from reach.

I had to take a picture of these perspectives, the detail would not have been appreciated otherwise. The ground, in-between and the rides, piers and homes in the distance.

Now I did not know of the donkey until we got on the beach. Unfortunately not for adult to ride on, just children. Nonetheless a beautiful sight!

I hadn't been to the beach in a while when we went to Blackpool, therefore I was very much pleased to have my feet meet the waters. My husband hesitated, however I finally got him to join me. Gosh I was like a kid again!

I found this creation by the waters, which I call the "sand-cliff". It was quite fascinting to me, though I could not resist jumping onto it after this shot was taken and… well… basically destroying it! Oops...

Did you know that a beach trip is never complete without a "pebble and shell picking spree"? No? Oh! well you do now. And so pebble and shell picking we went, to add to our current collection from Skegness and Southend Beaches.

Looking forward, towards the central pier where we were headed. Walking on more beach while admiring the bravest kids who ventured farther into the sea than I probably would.

Here are the Seagulls mentioned in last weeks post which were hanging around underneath the central pier. We also passed underneath the central pier onto another vast beach area, towards the south pier.

Beautiful and colourful homes, hotels and B&Bs on the sea front. Also, a sitting and hanging out area as well as the tram track were before this part of the beach.

Finishing off with some pictures of the concrete steps, pebbles and the waters below them. In next week's final Blackpool beach post, I will be sharing the last few pictures from our day in Blackpool. Thanks for reading and do stay tuned for the last piece.

A Beautiful View Of The Morning Sunrise Skies And Nostalgia! | Pictures Of The Week 6

Happy weekend! I am here today with pictures of the week 6 and sadly no rainbows this week as there was in last weeks pictures of the week 5. At the beginning of this week however, I woke up to this beautiful view! The sun about to rise, did I say no filter needed?...Though the rest of the week was very grey indeed, I am glad to have captured a glorious morning! Just breathtaking!

It is getting colder and colder each day, especially in the mornings and evenings. This particular morning, same as the morning of the sunrise above, I loved the view of some of the first frost we had on the roofs. I heard that parts of the country had some snow, not yet for us, though I am looking forward to it. The sight of the vapour from the vapour vents of houses always just reminds me of why this season is my favourite. So much nostalgia!!
Autumn Nostalgia

And of course, the wooly slippers are out! One of the most comfortable things for me to wear this time of year and I am sure I am not the only one! I have a few below that I am currently eyeing. I hope you have a happy weekend and I shall see you on Sunday with some more pictures from our Blackpool Beach trip!

Care to share a favourite autumn/winter memories of yours?

One Of The Best Natural Paraben Free Lip Balms | Paraben Free Beauty

I don't know about you but I seem to always be on a hunt for a new lip balm to try. They are just one of the beauty products which always attract my attention on the isle. In my recent bid to try more natural, paraben free beauty products, I came across one good old classic lip balm. Many years ago, when I first discovered You tube, I also discovered that this product was very popular especially in the United States. I never tried one until recently and I cannot understand what took me so long! But now, I am committed! This is one of the best lip balms I have ever tried! I am talking about an Evolution Of Smooth Lip balm!

Where To Get One

The coconut milk flavour is the one I have tried and I know that I will be going back to try some more flavours. EOS has quite an assortment of lip balm flavours and as far as I could see, all of them are made with majority natural ingredients with some even having organic additions! For thier price, for how long they last on your lips and in their cute spheres, I give a round of applauds to this lip saver! I have heard of fake version being sold on ebay for pretty much the same price, therefore  I made sure to get mine from a trusted source in order to fully experience the raved about goodness. Next to try are the Pomegranate & Rasperry Balm and the Summer Fruit Balm.

Ingredients And Moisture
Full of good oils, butters and vitamin enriched, the coconut milk lip balms is intensely moisturising! All of their current lip balms, as far as I could see, have no parabens, phthalates, petroleum or gluten. The lip balm flavours I found on their site are 99% natural with some of them being 95% organic and 100% natural. I could not believe just how instantly and incredibly soft it made my lips, and get this, the soft moisturised feeling stayed all day! Even after a meal or hot drink, I could still feel the moisturised effect and if any retouch was needed at all, well it was only a little! I absolutely love this lip balm and would definitely recommend it any day to anyone, all weathers.

A Perfect Little Sequin Outfit For An Occasion | Style Board #2

Most of us ladies know of that one "universally" appreciated wardrobe essential. The little black dress! Adding a bit of glamour and non overpowering glitz, I share my "little sequin dress". A decent outfit with a bit of glamour, which can be worn for a dressed up dinner out or to your end of year occasions! This is the second of my Style Board Series, you can also find Style Board #1 Here.

The Dress
A gorgeous two toned sequin number with a flare skirt, sequin bodice and a patent belt for a very good sale price. I must say that I am absolutely in love with this dress! A great combination of decent and statement when worn with tights especially for the weather! Elegant sequins and the never out of fashion navy on the bodice gives extra sophistication. The bodice has a round neck with an added pleat detail, as well as a v-back with a zip fastening. Navy and black, though similar colours, each stand out because of the sequin and patent accents!

Shoes And Accessories
Continuing with the navy scheme, I added a pair of two-tone navy and red ankle strap court heels with just the right height. I chose these mademoiselle shoes firstly because of the colour combination but also because they provide great support with the ankle straps. For a feminine touch, add some diamante and pearl studs as the only jewellery piece. Keeping red as an accent and for a slight edge, add a red or maroon clutch to complete the look whiles keeping warm on the way with a simple winter coat and a faux fur scarf. Beautiful!

I absolutely love this look and enjoyed putting it together. Below are similar sequin dresses which can by styled this way for your dressed up dinner out and occasions.

The Best Pictures Of Seagulls In The Blackpool Beach Skies | A Day In Blackpool Part 3

Continuing with our day in Blackpool. After a lovely journey on the train and a good exploration of The North Pier, my husband and I headed back towards the beach. Today's posts appreciates Blackpool's Seagulls and birds in the sky and around.

The cries of the seagulls were the first thing we heard which gave away the direction of the beach and for some reason, we unexpectedly captured a few in the most beautiful flights! We decided that it would be only fitting that we gave them names. This beauty below, named gracie by my husband hehe, was spotted as we tried to take a picture of the Blackpool tower. She decided to steal the show!

Another attempt to capture the tower and another seagull, Paul, stole the attention. Rightly so to be honest because he was so gracious in the way he cruised in the sky he owned. This was my favourite picture of the birds as Paul was just about to land.

So we gave them the full attention and admiration they deserved. Three in flight against the beautiful blue skies was just something! Let me introduce you to Jo, Bob and a third my husband named Mitch!

A shot below from when we were heading to the beach from the North Pier. This part of the beach was so different to other beaches I have been to as I mentioned in my last Blackpool post. The concrete steps went down to the deep waters, and you could either admire the view from above, protected by the rails, or attempt to admire it from the steps. We chose the latter. Jamie and Ester in flight over there.

The final pictures are of a few of the many birds we spotted around the Central Pier. There were quite a few of them hanging around on the beach, whiles some flew around the rides. Julian, Matilda and Caesar who almost missed the shot.

And then Caesar finally made it in the shot! I hope you enjoyed these pictures and friends we made as much as we did. I am thinking now that we probably should visit Blackpool again next year as there was so much more we could not explore. In the next Blackpool post, I share more pictures from our walk on the pleasure beach.

A Double Rainbow And Burning Calories | Pictures Of The Week 5 {With Video}

Pictures of the week here on Yvonne Dzifa blog are serving more and more as a way to round up the week with appreciation of nature and thanks giving. I hope you have had a good week, and if not, I hope this rainbow cheers you up as you begin your weekend. This week has been a week of "evers", I captured the most beautiful rainbow and the first double rainbow I have ever seen (video included). Also for the first time ever, I burnt more calories in one workout without stopping. I know this might sound like a small amount of calories but it is a personal best for me, and so I celebrate! If you haven't already seen them, I have pictures of the week 1, week 2, week 3 and week 4 also.

This rainbow appeared outside our balcony after we had a few days of constant rain, grey skies, wind and general sogginess. It was as if to say, "sorry for the greyness, here's something bright to make you smile". And that is exactly what this rainbow did. I was so mesmerised as I called my husband over to witness it, the pictures don't do as much justice. The colours were so much sharper and clearer than any other real life rainbows I have seen…sigh…At first I though it was just a rainbow, but after looking through the pictures, I realised that it was actually a double rainbow. If you look to the far right, you can see a faint show of the second bow. Picture 2 shows it clearer below.
Rainbows This Week
Rainbows This Week

This picture shows a clearer view of the double rainbow. You can see the second one, which is slightly fainter on the right. The junction in the trees where the rainbow started from was so sharp and bright that you would think lightening had hit!
Double Rainbows This Week
Double Rainbow

This rainbow was also a very nice semicircle where some rainbows I have seen get lost half way in the clouds.
Rainbows This Week semicircle
Part Of The Semicircle

And then we were back to the grey later in the week, as I type, so it rains with a huge overcast. I am still grateful for the rains, because it helps crops grow so that the nations can be fed. Back in Ghana, West Africa, it is not uncommon a practise to collect rain waters, purify them and use them in the household! Something I am pleased to have experienced myself.
Overcast this week
Back To Overcast, But We Thank God For Rain

I end toady's post with my final "ever". If you follow me on twitter @yvonnedzifa, you would have seen my celebration when I burnt 500+ calories working out without stopping. This might not sound like a lot, however it is a personal best for me and for that reason I am pretty pleased. Everyone always started form somewhere aye? I hope to share more on this journey as I get better! Have a beautiful weekend!
I burnt more than 500 calories in a workout
Personal Best
