Make A Protein-Moisture Deep Conditioner From Left Over Conditioners

After years of having relaxed hair, my decision to go natural was very abrupt and overnight. When the time came, I knew I was more than ready. No turning back, and truly I still have no regrets.

Choosing to wear my natural hair for me, also means experimenting with more natural hair care product. Products with less or no harsh components and more natural based ingredients. However, I still have a lot of left over products which I was using when I had chemically relaxed hair. Especially deep conditioners and co-wash conditioners. These products I do not want to do away with, as that would be a waste. I decided therefore, that a way to use up these products whiles still giving myself room to start my natural product journey, was to mix them up and create one a big protein - moisture deep conditioner. After all, I bought them partly because they were part of the better group of non-natural based Afro hair care products.

I decided to make a good deep conditioner mix with the products I had the most of. A deep conditioner which would serve as both moisturising and protein rich.

So here's what I did.

Left over conditioners
Keracare Humecto Creme Conditioner
Organic Root Stimulator Hair Mayonnaise

Essential Oils
Tea tree
Rosemary
Myrrh

Oils
Grape seed
Coconut

Moisturising agent
Glycerin

Et voila! A moisturising protein deep conditioner!! After mixing everything. This will last me so long!

You can watch my You Tube version of this recipe below to see how I did it. Try it out yourself with any good old conditioners you may have.
