What I Ate Weekend

Hello friends,

So I thought to update my blog today with what I ate. I have recently come from holiday/vacation and I will talk about how that affected my weight loss and where I am now with that in other blogs posts to follow this. This Post is also available in video form on my YouTube channel Yvonne Dzifa.

So today when I woke up I had -


Water

Water! I sometimes suffer the effects of not drinking enough water and drinking too much tea. This usually shows up one way or another, however, one incident on one Wednesday caused me to really reconsider how much water I drink. So now I am trying to drink at least 2 litres a day.



Breakfast

For breakfast I had a some seasoned baked beans with 3 egg whites and 2 yolks, fried, along with a cup of tea. I seasoned the baked beans with black pepper and some all purpose or meat seasoning. I also seasoned the egg with black pepper and salt. The baked beans which I used was the single serving mini size. This meal, as you can see, contains quite a bit of protein form the beans and from the eggs and not much carbohydrates and this is because I am trying to decrease my daily intake of carbohydrates.




Lunch

So for lunch I had some jollof rice with red stew/tomatoes stew which I made with goat meat. I also had a bottle of water and a small carton of ribena strawberry drink. This was quite a full meal which therefore affected my dinner which I share below.



Snack

So since my lunch was quite filling, I actually did not need any food up until dinner time, which is when I had a little snack, well OJ really!



Dinner

As I said earlier, by dinner time, I wasn't too hungry at all, therefore I decided to have me one of my favourite cereals, Jordans Country Crisps. I had this with semi skimmed milk and a Go Ahead Yoghurt Break bar.



So over all I would not say that this day was entirely healthy with regards to meal choices, however, it was definitely healthy enough as I try to figure out where I want to go next with my weight management. One thing I did notice was that there was an absence of fruits, except for the orange juice, so perhaps that is what I should try and work on next.

My One Year 4C Natural Hair Length Check!

Hello friends,

Thank you for passing by my post. I am so pleased to say that I have now been natural (Hair) for one year!! (well one year and 3 days to be exact as I type this). In 15th March 2013. I decided to have a big chop after about 2 years or so of being texlaxed. I feel its gone by so quickly and choosing to go natural is definitely one of the best decisions I have made so far. There is honestly not one day that I regret this decision, look back or cry about "un-managability". I have come to understand my own natural 4C hair given to me by God, what it likes, and how to treat. I must say there are still many more things to learn, with regards to styling my hair, but this is what this journey is about.

So research shows that on average, our hair grows about half an inch per month, which is about 6 inches a year. My hair is currently 0.5 inches above that average. This is growth from a year of not particularly doing anything special in treatment to my hair. Granted, I do not even wrap my hair for bed 98% of the time. I am rather glad that I can look forward to all that is to be learnt about my hair now and in the future. Hopefully, with more effort spent towards caring for my hair in 2014, I hope to enable her to grow more by my second year 2015 length check.
