Oh Dear...London Southern Trains In The Morning!!!!

                     Image from Google

Dear all

A little talk about daily life. Inspired not only from this morning but from everyday experience.

Am I the only one...or are the southern train services a sort of "tinned sardine" experience these days. It's quite guaranteed each morning that you now have to push, literally and quite forcefully before anyone in the train budges to grant some space for more passengers to board.

It doesn't help that trains get super packed half way through their journey, leaving practically no space for people to board on the remaining half of their journey. I mean sometimes those in the train when it stops at a station nearly fall out when the train doors open.

Priority for expectant mothers, mothers, the elderly and disabled is pretty much out of the window at rush hour!!!

After avoiding this many times I finally decided to speak out and simply say "can you move down please so others can board the train" and many a times the response you get are blank faces looking at you or looking else where as though you just spoke to the ceiling. This is when its quite visible that there is space for at least three people to board, and that space is being left opened because other people can't be bothered to move a little. Now that is quite sad and selfish shall I say. No one moves unless you beg for someone to move up the isle, and even then you are ignored.

People often forget what it feels like to miss a train when in such a hurry,  just because someone doesn't want to move one step forward to make some space.

"Forget it if you left home early enough to catch a particular train for an interview". It's probably guaranteed you will be late.

Anyway let's see what happens in the next few weeks. Hopefully some improvement.

Do comment if you have had such encounters on the morning trains in London recently.

Organic Dinner Meal Prep for Slim 6 Challenge (Week 3, Ramp It Up)

Hello everyone,

I hope you are having a good week so far. I just thought i will show my organic dinner meal preps for the week during my Slim in 6 challenge week 3 on Ramp It Up

As a general rule, i normally have:
1 cup carbohydrate
3-4 oz protein
1-2 cups vegetables

For this dinner meal prep, i made a cabbage, celery, swede and mushroom sauce with a little olive oil. For proteins i have an option of grilled mustard chicken or salmon.
I also steamed some carrots and broccoli as my vegetables side for dinner.
For carbohydrates, i chose to have an option of pasta or spelt spaghetti. When this finishes, there is still an option of sweet potatoes or white potatoes.

For Lunch i will be making egg white and spinach sandwiches with a side of olives.

For snacks i will be having strawberry, raspberry and non fat Greek yoghurt or an apple.

So far i am enjoying this change. I enjoy more the fact that the ingredients which make this meal are organic. Do give this meal prep a try and see if it works for you. :-)

Organic Grocery Haul for Slim in 6 challenge (Week 3, Ramp It Up)

Hello everyone

I am here with my grocery haul from this afternoons fortnightly on-line grocery shopping. As mentioned in my previous post before this, i alternate between shopping on-line and going out to shop fortnightly.

Unfortunately, in this order, they happen to not have organic spinach, organic strawberries and organic raspberries. I mean the reason i order on-line every two weeks as mentioned before is because i know i cannot get these specific organic products in the actual shop, so i was a little disappointed when these three items were replaced with non organic produce. All the same, i thank God for provision.

So i will show you what i bought for the different categories of vegetables and
fruitproteins and carbohydrates and i will also talk about what i plan to do with these.

Thanks for stopping by.

Organic and non Organic:-(  Vegetables and fruits
3 bags of Spinach, 2 packs of Strawberries, 1 pack of Raspberries, 1 pack of Avocados, 2 Broccolis
Fruits- smoothie breakfasts and fruit snacks
Spinach- lunch filling and smoothie breakfasts
Avocados- breakfast
Broccoli- dinner vegetable sides

Proteins and carbohydrates
Unsweetened Almond Milk, Sage non-fat Greek Yoghurt, Organic Semi Skimmed Milk and Organic eggs
Almond Milk- for porridge oats, tea at home and smoothies
Organic Milk- tea at work
Greek Yoghurt- smoothies and fruit snacks
Eggs- breakfast and lunch

Beef Pho, Granary Bread, Organic Chicken and Wild Catch Salmon Fillets
Beef Pho- supplementary dinner on weekends
Granary Bread- lunch and breakfast
Salmon fillets- dinner
Organic Chicken- dinner

This plan is a nice change from last weeks plan and i am looking forward to see how this goes.
